Manchester teams hold top spots in NSL 2 after BA Tournament

Four NSL 2 teams -- Ninos Privados, Warriors, Royals and KKs -- played at the British Airways Tournament on the weekend of 18-19 June at the Heston Venue in Cranford, but two Manchester teams are still on top of the NSL 2 standings.

NSL 2 competition picks up steam at Diamond 2

The BSF's National Softball League 2 for B-grade teams, which began at the start of this season, now has 11 teams signed up, and the competition for places in the Platinum Nationals became more intense as 10 of the 11 teams competed at Diamond Series 2, played on the weekend of 11-12 June at Farnham Park.

It was a weekend of upsets in the top division of the National Softball League when the second Diamond Series tournament was played at Farnham Park on 11-12 June, with challengers shooting up the table and the traditional ruling class struggling to keep their heads above water.

The British Softball Federation has started a second tier of National Softball League competition this season for B-grade teams, with seven teams have signed up to take part, and the early leaders in the NSL 2 standings are the Manchester Dodgers.

Angels wrap up women’s title in the GBFL

Three Saturdays of Great Britain Fastpitch League play have gone, with one remaining, and the London Angels have already wrapped up the title in the Women's Division, with an unassailable lead. But the Men's Division title is still up for grabs.

Chromies top NSL table and take A-grade honours at Diamond 1

The defending national champion Chromies took a slim lead at the top of the table in National Softball League 1 after games played at the first NSL event of the year during the Diamond Series tournament at Farnham Park on 14-15 May.

East Midlands Softball League Firstball survives the April weather

The first co-ed slowpitch tournament of the year got under way in blustery conditions at Loughborough in the East Midlands on Sunday 3 April, with 16 teams competing and hoping not to have a re-run of the 2015 event, which was almost washed out. As it transpired, the rain held off and the afternoon even brought some warmth and sunshine for the players to enjoy.

The 2016 Great Britain Fastpitch League (GBFL) had its second day of play in bright sunshine at Farnham Park on Saturday 7 May, and there are clear leaders at the top of both the Men's and Women's sections at the halfway point of the season.
