BSF to run Corporate Softball Workshop for leagues at AGM

Promoting and running local corporate softball events, with support from BSUK, can be a good way for slowpitch leagues to find new members and make some money. The BSF will be running a workshop session at the 2012 AGM on February 18 in Manchester designed to help leagues take on this activity.

Indoor softball comes to the Second City

The Birmingham Bobcats will be offering indoor softball sessions for the first time in the UK's second city this winter and spring. Starting on January 10, ten indoor sessions will be run at the Kingsbury School and Sports College in Erdington on Tuesday evenings from 7.00-8.00 pm.

Softball League Heads Forum to expand its scope this year

The British Softball Federation has scheduled the 2011 Softball League Heads Forum for Saturday, November 26 in Birmingham. The event will be expanded this year to include a workshop session on the National Softball League and consultation by BSUK on the 2013-2017 Whole Sport Plan.

Trainee Community Coach completes a successful six months in the North West

Baljit Ahluwalia was employed by BSUK from March to September this year via the Future Jobs Fund programme as a Community Baseball and Softball Coach, working mainly in Greater Manchester. The placement has now come to an end, but both Baljit and BSUK's North West Regional Development Manager Luis Arrevillagas can look back on a very successful project.

Manchester Softball League steps up development in 2011

Manchester Softball League, which has already won BSF awards for development achievement, has stepped up its efforts in 2011 both on and off the field with regard to facility enhancement, sponsorship, growth, umpire development and communication.

BSF gains £10,000 Sport England grant for fastpitch development

The British Softball Federation has been awarded a £10,000 grant from Sport England for a three-year youth fastpitch development programme whose delivery will be organised largely by BSUK.

BSF to run equipment donation campaign for new teams

The British Softball Federation will be running an equipment donation campaign throughout the 2011 season under the slogan "Bring a Bat, Give a Glove!" to provide equipment to new softball teams and leagues just starting out in the UK.
