Co-ed Slowpitch Tournament set for Zurich in July

The Zurich Orcas Slowpitch Softball Club, who have played for the past two years in the Softball World Series in the UK, are hosting their own co-ed slowpitch tournament in Zurich on the weekend of 13-14 July, and British teams are invited.

A six-week Softball for Beginners course starting on 22 April, followed by an open Softball Tournament on Sunday 2 June, will be run in Manchester this spring on behalf of the Pride Games, an annual international LGBT sports festival.

Places open in Golden Oldies Softball Festival in Hawaii

Mixed slowpitch tournament in Germany in August

Mixed slowpitch teams from across Europe have been invited to play in the first German Slowpitch International Open Championships on the weekend of August 3-4 in Gunzenhausen, not far from Nuremberg.

East Midlands League votes for mandatory helmets

The East Midlands Softball League has become the first slowpitch league in the UK to vote that all players must wear helmets when batting or baserunning. This policy will come into effect for the 2013 season.

Guernsey Slowpitch Open returns for 2013

The three-day Guernsey Co-ed Open Slowpitch Tournament will be played on the May Bank Holiday this year after a two-year hiatus, and teams from the British mainland will be more than welcome.

Support for slowpitch at the ESF Congress

Andre van Overbeek from Holland, who has been a consistent supporter of slowpitch during his time as ESF President, was re-elected for another four-year term at the ESF Congress held from February 14-16 in Bled, Slovenia. In another boost for slowpitch, John Austin from Ireland was elected as one of six Vice Presidents on the ESF Executive.
