    BSUK Coaching Module on Slowpitch Pitching

    This three-hour coaching module for new and experienced slowpitch pitchers as well as any other coaches or players who want to attend will be delivered by David Lee, longstanding GB Slowpitch Team pitcher and GB Slowpitch Team Assistant Coach.  The course, which costs £35, will cover all aspects of pitching including different grips, pitches and pitching styles as well as strategy and fielding as a pitcher.  THIS COURSE IS NOW FULL.

    BSUK Coaching Module: Drills for Beginner Coaches

    This three-hour course for coaches wishing to increase their repertoire of drills will be delivered by David Lee, GB Slowpitch Team Assistant Coach.  The course, which costs £35, will cover infield, outfield and batting drills adaptable for indoor and outdoor environments, and is open to any coach or player.  Register for the course here:  https://bsuk.wufoo.com/forms/z1wwjqi0062wbi3/.  You are welcome to bring a pen and notepad, and please bring glove and a bat if you have one and wear appropriate shoes for practical activity.

    Manchester Single-Sex Indoor Slowpitch Tournament

    Manchester is hosting its first Single-Sex Indoor Slowpitch Tournament for teams from around the country on Sunday 24 March at Powerleague Trafford, with the first pitch scheduled for 1.00 pm.  The entry fee is £145 and teams can email Linni Mitchell (see email address below) to register interest.

    North West Series 1 (Rec Tournament)

    For 2019, the North West Series will include one-day Rec and Comp tournaments on each of three weekends (please see requirements for Rec teams on the entry form). All six events will include raffles for players to get their hands on some exclusive gear.  Trophies for tournament winners will be handed out at the end of each day and overall Series winners will get a special prize!

    This tournament provides players in the GB Slowpitch Team programme an opportunity to showcase their skills in a competitive environment after winter indoor training and is an important part of the selection process for competitions the team will undertake in 2019.  Spectators are welcome.

    The BASU Advanced Slowpitch Course has been expanded to two days to include a day on the two-umpire system and mechanics, and then to allopw trainees to umpire in pairs at the GB Slowpitch Open Tournament at Farnham Park on Sunday 14 April.

    GB Slowpitch Open

    This is an annual fun tournament, with places for 16 B-grade and C-grade co-ed slowpitch teams, run by the GB Slowpitch programme as a fundraising event.  It's a tournament with a lot of different and unusual features, including buy-backs available in all games and hands-on coaching from GB coaches, and it's raising money for a very good cause -- to help GB Slowpitch Team players represent Great Britain in European and World competitions.

    Manchester LGBT Tournament

    This is the first of three Diamond Series tournaments that will run in 2019 at Farnham Park,  This event will include NSL 1 and NSL 2 league games alongside Diamond competitions in various grades.  Around 60 teams are expected to play and 15 or more fields will be in use, making this tournament one of the season's great slowpitch spectacles.

    Sefton Shield Tournament

    This recreational co-ed slowpitch tournament is run by the Sefton Softball League on Merseyside, and has been a big success since it began a few years ago.  There are places for up to 20 teams at all levels, and the hope is to guarantee nine games over the weekend.  On-site camping is available free of charge.

    Leeds Softball Tournament 2019

    The Leeds Softball Tournament is a B and C-grade co-ed slowpitch tournament hosted at Grange Park Sports Club in Wetherby, just off the A1 and a 30-minute drive from the centre of Leeds.  This excellent Comp/Rec tournament boasts in-house catering throughout the day, changing rooms with showers, a large bar area and plenty of parking.  In addition, the evening party at the clubhouse is always a hit with late-night revellers!  Please contact leedssoftball@gmail.com for further details.

    London LGBTQ+ Annual Softball Challenge

    BaseballSoftballUK is launching an inaugural tournament focusing on the LGBTQ+ community in London via workplace diversity groups.  The tournament will use BSUK's new inclusive playing rules and will build on the success of the long-running Manchester LGBTQ+ Tournament.  No previous softball experience is needed: teams can be made up from staff networks or existing teams or clubs, and facilitators will be on hand to help newcomers to the sport.  The entry fee is £200 per team.

    The GB Women's Fastpitch Team will compete in the ESF's top Women's Championship, and will need to finish in the top six to qualify for the Europe/Africa Olympic Qualifying Tournament that will take place in September.

    Disco Ball

    Great Western Somerball

    The Bristol Main Tournament has been reborn for 2019 as the Great Western Somerball, a brand new summer tournament hosted by the Bristol Softball Association and held in Keynsham, near Bristol/Bath.  Pitches are well-manicured and plentiful, and there's a spacious bar within easy reach.  Groups will be Comp and Rec.  For more info and entry forms go to www.bristolsoftball.com.

    European Co-ed Slowpitch Championship

    This will be the 12th time that the European Co-ed Slowpitch Championship has been held, and for the first time the GB Slowpitch Team will not be defending champions and will be trying to take the title back from Germany.  A record number of teams are expected to enter.

    Diamond Tournament Series 3 plus NSL 2 League Play

    This is the third of three Diamond Series tournaments that will run in 2019 at Farnham Park,  The NSL 2 league season will be played to a finish at this tournament alongside Diamond competitions in various grades, but the final round of NSL 1 games has been moved to 27-28 July to avoid a clash with the European Slowpitch Championship.  Around 50 teams are expected to play and 12 or more fields will be in use.

    WBSC Europe/Africa Olympic Qualifying Tournament

    This tournament will decide which country gets to represent the Europe and Africa Region at the 2020 Olympic softball competition in Tokyo.  The competitors will be the top six finishers at the 2019 European Women's Fastpitch Championship, to be played from 30 June-6 July, plus the top two countries from Africa.  The GB Women's Team will expect to qualify for the Qualifier, and then will hope to win it.

    NSL 1 Final Competition Round

    The final round of NSL 1 competition would normally take place at the third Diamond Series tournament, but it has been moved to a standalone competition on 27-28 July to avoid a clash with the 2019 European Slowpitch Championship.  The 12 NSL 1 teams will be battling to see who wins the 2019 league competition and which eight teams make it to the NSL Nationals.

    European Cadette (Under-16) Girls’ Championship

    The GB Under-16 Girls' Fastpitch Team will compete in this ESF Championship, which takes place every other year.  The GB Under-16 team will come in to the tournament as the fifth seed.

    Sons of Pitches Men’s Slowpitch Tournament 2019

    This is a men’s slowpitch softball tournament where 16 teams will compete in Comp and Rec categories on the dirt fields at Farnham Park.  While the tournament will be competitive, the emphasis will be on fun and there will be team beer pong and flip cup challenges running simultaneously.  Teams are encouraged to camp and take part in a boys' night out at Home Plate in the evening.

    BSF Co-ed Slowpitch League National Championships 2019

    These National Championships, in several grades of play, will be for co-ed slowpitch league teams that finished first or second in league divisions in 2018 and are invited by the BSF to enter.  The best league teams from around the country will be playing for national honours.

    European Massimo Romeo Youth Trophy

    The GB Under-13 Girls' Fastpitch Team programme has competed in this event since it was founded in 2012, and will compete again this year. The event is open to both national and club teams.  In 2018, the GB Under-13s, playing as the London Cubs, had their highest-ever finish in the more competitive Sport Division.

    Chichester Co-ed (Mixed) Fastpitch Tournament

    Edinburgh Festiball

    This annual co-ed slowpitch tournament, covering all grades of play, is one of the most popular on the tournament calendar, and coincides with the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe.  Teams from all over the UK, including some of the top teams and players in the country, will be playing and the finals on Sunday are always worth watching.

    BSF NSL 1 & 2 National Championships 2019

    This event will be the BSF Co-ed Slowpitch National Championship for teams that play in the National Softball League at NSL 1 and NSL 2 level.  The top eight teams in the standings from NSL 1 and NSL 2 league play will compete, with the winner of the Premier Nationals (NSL 1) earning a place in the 2020 European Slowpitch Super Cup.  An NSL 3 Nationals will also be played on this weekend in Manchester, with the top two teams promoted to NSL 2 for the 2020 season.

    Softball World Series Tournament

    The Softball World Series is an annual high-level co-ed slowpitch tournament for real or ex-pat national teams or teams representing countries or areas of the world.  Many teams fly in from European countries including Ireland, Jersey, Belgium, Switzerland, Holland, Germany and the Czech Republic.  Teams made up of players resident in the UK include England, Scotland, Wales, USA, Canada, Africa, Australia/New Zealand, Latin America and Japan/Asia.  Spectators are welcome.

    The Hit & Run team is back for a seventh year with this end-of-season co-ed slowpitch development tournament at North Maidenhead Cricket Club, open to new, youth and developing teams.  This low C-grade and D-grade tournament aims to be lots of fun -- a relaxed and friendly way to end the summer.

    Great Britain Fastpitch League 6

    This is the sixth and last of six dates on which the Great Britain Fastpitch League (GBFL) will play in 2019.  The league includes Men's and Women's Divisions, and all players are welcome regardless of previous fastpitch experience.  New players are assigned to appropriate teams, and coaching support for players new to fastpitch is provided.  Spectators are welcome to come and see the best fastpitch competition available in the UK.  Visit www.fastpitchsoftball.co.uk for more information.
