A six-week Softball for Beginners course starting on 22 April, followed by an open Softball Tournament on Sunday 2 June, will be run in Manchester this spring on behalf of the Pride Games.

The Pride Games is an annual international sport festival for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and their friends.  With a range of sports held at various venues in Manchester, the festival is projected as the perfect opportunity to try a new sport, re-awaken old talents or brush up on current skills – and to have fun and meet new people.

Beginners' Course

The six-week Softball for Beginners course, ideal for people new to the sport, is being offered for just £15 for all six sessions, with coaching supplied by BaseballSoftballUK staff.  The course will end on May 27, and registration and payment can be done online at: http://pg2013softball.eventbrite.co.uk/.

The course will be quickly followed, on Sunday 2 June, by the Pride Games Softball Tournament at Parrs Wood Sports Ground in Didsbury, home of the Manchester Softball League.  Teams (for a cost of £60) and individual players (for a cost of £5) can register for the tournament on: http://pg2013softballtournament.eventbrite.co.uk/.

Pride Games brunch

There will be an official Pride Games brunch for all competitors on Sunday, 9 June at The Cornerhouse in the centre of Manchester.  The cost is £10, and brunch registrations can also be made on the eventbrite website.
