The Zurich Orcas Slowpitch Softball Club, who have played for the past two years in the Softball World Series in the UK, are hosting their own co-ed slowpitch tournament in Zurich on the weekend of 13-14 July, and British teams are invited.

The tournament will be played on two artificial turn fields with tall fences at the Sportanlage Heerenschürli near downtown Zurich.  Eight places are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and teams are guaranteed at least six time-limited games.

Room and board

There are plenty of hotels in the area, and paid camping is also available, but not on the field itself.  The entry fee for the tournament will be 100 euros (125 Swiss francs).

There is a Sportcenter Café/Restaurant on site and various additional restaurants within walking distance.  The venue is also close to Lidl, Migros and Coop supermarkets and a large shopping center (Glatt).  A Saturday night party is planned, with details to follow.

As with many European slowpitch tournaments, "co-ed“ in this case means that teams must have a minimum of two women on the field at all times.
