GB Juniors keep playoff hopes alive

The GB Junior (Under-19) Women's Team heads into the final day of group play at the ISF Junior World Championships still with a chance for a playoff spot following a narrow 3-2 victory over the Czech Republic. There could be a potential three-way tie for the final spot with New Zealand, Puerto Rico and GB all likely to finish with 4-3 records.

The GB Junior (Under-19) Women's Fastpitch Team split a pair of games at the ISF Junior World Championships on 2 July in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, and it means that two wins in their last two round-robin games can get them to the playoffs.

GB Women get off to a fast start at Farnham Park

The GB Women's Fastpitch Team assembled for the first this year on Friday 28 June, had their first training sessions on Saturday, and then looked really good in a 10-0 no-hit exhibition game win on Sunday 30 June against the London Angels (plus guest players) at Farnham Park.

GB Players Need More Support

Those of you who saw the first issue of the GB Softball Newsletter at the end of May will know that, thanks to an unusual combination of circumstances, all seven GB fastpitch and slowpitch national teams are playing in official ESF or ISF competitions this year – the first time this has ever happened. A rough guesstimate has put the total travel costs for these seven teams at something over £100,000.
