Places open in Golden Oldies Softball Festival in Hawaii

A major new softball tournament for slowpitch and fastpitch players over 35 years of age will take place from October 19-26 this year on the island of Oahu in Hawaii.

Selections announced for GB Women and Under-19s

Selections for the GB Women's Fastpitch Team and the GB Junior (Under-19) Women's Team have been announced for the 2013 competition season. The Women's Team will play in European Championships in Prague from 7-13 July while the Under-19s will play in the ISF Junior World Championships in Brampton, Ontario, Canada from 1-7 July.

New Zealand wins Men’s Fastpitch World Championships

New Zealand won the 13th ISF Men's Fastpitch World Championships on Sunday, March 10 in Auckland, coming from behind to register a 4-1 win over Venezuela in the Gold Medal game. It was New Zealand's fourth win in the last five World Championships and their fifth since the tournament began in 1966.

GB Men come to the end of the line

One bad inning in their final round-robin game against the United States derailed the GB Men's Fastpitch Team from their march towards a playoff place at the ISF Men's World Championships on Thursday in Auckland, New Zealand. The US won the game 4-1, anthe GB Team will probably finish ninth in the tournament standings, while the top eight teams from the two round-robin pools will advance to the playoffs.

GB Men keep World Championship dreams alive

Victories by Great Britain over the Czech Republic in men's fastpitch softball are about as rare as Willy Wonka's golden tickets. But the GB Men's Team broke the spell and came up with a huge 7-4 win over the Czechs on March 6 at the ISF World Championships in New Zealand, to keep their hopes of reaching the playoffs alive.

A two-run inside-the-park home run by right fielder Kenny Pregnell in the bottom of the fifth inning and a two-hit shutout thrown by pitcher James Darby kept Great Britain's playoff hopes alive at the ISF Men's Fastpitch World Championships on March 5 with a 2-0 win over South Africa.

Great Britain's first win at the ISF Men's Fastpitch World Championships turned out to be easy: a four-inning 10-0 mercy rule rout of Indonesia on Monday morning, March 4 in Auckland. For GB, it was the start of what they hope will be a climb back towards the playoff places.

GB Men drop third straight to World Champions

Playing the defending champions Australia was never going to be a game that the GB Men's Fastpitch Team was likely to win, and after scoring six times in the second inning, the Australians coasted to a 7-0 five-inning mercy rule victory that left GB still winless in the World Championships.
