Softball World Series to feature “Battle of the Sexes”

An exhibition game with a difference will be a feature at the 2011 Softball World Series, scheduled for the BA Concorde Club on the weekend of September 10-11. A team of women, some from the GB Slowpitch squad, will take on a strong men's team in an attempt to win the Battle of the Sexes and raise money for GB Slowpitch.

The Greater London Softball Mixed League Lastball Tournament survived the elements -- just! -- on Saturday, August 20 at Old Deer Park, and Mescalitoes, Mezcalitoes Ninos and Pimlico Pirates took the honours.

Thirty-two teams played in the 21st Edinburgh Festiball on the weekend of August 27-28, and Slammers made a statement a week before the Premier Nationals by taking the Comp 1 title.

Richings Park Men get a taste of Europe

A Richings Park Men's Fastpitch Team travelled to Prague in the Czech Republic to compete in the European Cup-Winners Cup for Men from August 22-27. The team won two games and came last out of seven teams in the standings, but it was another big step in widening the range of men's fastpitch opportunities in the UK.

Diamond Series looks back on a great fifth anniversary year

The final tournament in the fifth anniversary year for the Diamond Series was played on the weekend of July 30-31, and the series deciders went down to the wire in all three grades.

Quackers win gold at “Let the Girls Play” tournament

Let the Girls Play hosted their highest number of teams to date, with a full capacity of eight female-only squads competing for the title. Quackers hoisted the trophy, with Bristol Bluebirds battling for second place and the Chavs and Sticky Fingers agreeing to draw for third place when the deciding game was rained out.

Greensox, Knights, Outlaws and Ascot victorious at BSF Co-Ed National Championship

The cream of Britain's co-ed softball talent descended upon Bristol on the weekend of August 13-14 for two days of sun-splashed, competitive slowpitch softball. With Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze trophies up for grabs 21 teams made the trip to the Clifton College Sports Grounds with glory in their sights.

Leeds Softball Association to host charity tournament and open day

The Leeds Softball Association will host the Girlsball Tournament on the Sunday 4 September 2011 at Wellington Place, Leeds. The charity competition is in support of Breast Cancer Haven Leeds, and will be accompanied by an open day of fun softball activities for newcomers to the sport.
