All 66 games from the International Softball Federation's XIII Women’s World Championships, ISF Fastpitch World Championship 2012 Logoto be played from July 13-22 in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada, will be streamed and available to fans around the world – including all games that the GB Women's Fastpitch Team will play in the competition.

“We are extremely pleased that fans around the world will be able to see the action from Whitehorse,” said ISF President Don Porter.  “We know that the worldwide softball community will be looking to interact with the tournament regardless of their location, so having all of the games online is a perfect meeting place to accomplish that.”
 

Live and free

All games from the tournament will be streamed live, with no fee involved for viewers, and games will also be recorded and archived for on-demand viewing as well.

Starting on July 13, games can be viewed on www.sportscanada.tv and viewers will be able to interact through a Twitter feed embedded next to the video player.

Sixteen teams will contest the ten-day tournament:ISF Logo Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, Chinese Taipei, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, South Africa, the USA and Venezuela.  The Americans are defending champions, having won the 12th edition of the event that took place in 2010 in Caracas, Venezuela.  Great Britain finished in 11th place in Venezuela.

2012 is the first year that the ISF World Championships are starting an every-two-years rotation, after having been held every four years while softball was also on the programme of the Olympic Games.

GB journey

The Great Britain Women's Fastpitch Team will convene in Vancouver, Canada on June 27 and, like many other World Championship teams, will first play in the prestigious Canadian Open Fastpitch Championship from June 30-July 8 before heading for the World Championships in Whitehorse.

The GB Team will be appearing in its third straight World Championship, having been given a wild card by the ISF to compete in 2006 in Beijing, and then having qualified by right for the 2010 and 2012 competitions by virtue of top-three finishes in the 2009 and 2011 European Championships.

Great Britain will be taking 16 players to the Canadian Open and the World Championships under Head Coach Hayley Scott.  The squad and staff will be:
