The British Softball Federation is seeking applications for the position of Head Coach for the GB Senior Men’s Fastpitch Team following the resignation of Robbie Robison for personal reasons.

Robbie had been in charge of the GB Men’s Team since February 2023 and led the team at the 2023 European Championship in Denmark last July, where they finished eighth.

The team will not have an official European competition in 2024 but will hope to attend one or more invitational tournaments to prepare for the next European Men's Fastpitch Championship, scheduled to be played from 23-28 June 2025 in Havlickuv Brod, Czechia.

The GB Men’s programme as a whole is currently 25th in the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) world rankings, having jumped by seven places in 2023, more than any other country.

Current direction

The Federation is looking for a Head Coach who will continue to emphasise the training and selection of British-based players within the GB Men’s Team programme, and the integration of Senior and age-group teams, although overseas-based players with a British passport or the eligibility to acquire one are still welcome to trial for the team.

Anyone applying for the Head Coach position who is based outside the UK will be expected to travel to Britain on a regular basis to work with players in the UK.

The deadline for applying for this position is 5.00 pm on Friday 23 February 2024.
