Trainee Community Coach completes a successful six months in the North West

Baljit Ahluwalia was employed by BSUK from March to September this year via the Future Jobs Fund programme as a Community Baseball and Softball Coach, working mainly in Greater Manchester. The placement has now come to an end, but both Baljit and BSUK's North West Regional Development Manager Luis Arrevillagas can look back on a very successful project.

Americans dominate an outstanding World Series weekend

One of the best Softball World Series tournaments of recent years escaped the predicted bad weather at the BA Concorde Club in West London on the weekend of September 10-11. And at a time when many people were remembering the events of 9/11, it was perhaps fitting that two American teams dominated the proceedings.

The London Angels Women's Fastpitch Team travelled to Dupnitsa, Bulgaria to compete in the European Women's B Pool Cup Tournament from August 15-20, and finished sixth out of ten teams.

Pioneers repeat as Premier Nationals Champions

Despite the fact that the Pioneers won the BSF's Co-ed Slowpitch Premier National Championship in 2010, they weren't necessarily everyone's favourite coming into this year's event at Farnham Park on September 3-4. But a masterful performance in the final against the Chromies gave the Pioneers their second straight Premier Nationals title and another chance to represent Britain in the European Slowpitch Cup next year.

GB Under-13 Girls enjoy the Bank Holiday in Holland

The GB Minime (Under-13) Girls' Fastpitch Team, without an official European competition this year, spent the August Bank Holiday weekend in Holland, where they played against three local teams in Alkmaar and managed to get a fair amount of sightseeing in as well.
