A continuous softball match designed to raise money for the charity Cancer Research UK will be played from 7.00 am to 7.00 pm on Sunday, September 18 at Ashton Court in Bristol, site of the annual Bristol International Balloon Fiesta.

Almost £1300 has already been raised but the organisers are hoping for much more.

The game is already full as far as players is concerned, but for those in the area who want to come and watch, there will be a lot of other activity on the day, including outdoor games, frisbee golf, a farmers' market and cakes and other food for sale.

As well as raising money for the charity, the event has been designed as a showcase for softball in Bristol in a very public open space.
