GB Women say Yes to World Championships

The GB Women's Fastpitch Softball Team has confirmed its entry to the 13th ISF World Championships this summer in Whitehorse, Canada after almost 20 players agreed to find the money that would enable the team to go.

BSF to run Corporate Softball Workshop for leagues at AGM

Promoting and running local corporate softball events, with support from BSUK, can be a good way for slowpitch leagues to find new members and make some money. The BSF will be running a workshop session at the 2012 AGM on February 18 in Manchester designed to help leagues take on this activity.

New Glasgow team plans recruitment session

A new co-ed slowpitch team in Glasgow, to be known as the Honey Badgers, will be playing in the Central Scotland Softball League this summer and is currently recruiting for new players, with an open session scheduled for Thursday, February 16.

Pentecost Tournament in Holland offers places for youth softball and baseball teams

The 23rd annual "Pinkstertoernooi" or Pentecost Tournament, run by the Mr Cocker HCAW Baseball and Softball Club in the Netherlands on Sunday and Monday, May 27-28, is offering places to youth softball and baseball teams from Britain.

BASU AGM set for February 11 in Bristol

BASU (the British Association of Softball Umpires) will hold its AGM on Saturday, February 11 in Bristol, just a week before the BSF AGM.

Indoor softball comes to the Second City

The Birmingham Bobcats will be offering indoor softball sessions for the first time in the UK's second city this winter and spring. Starting on January 10, ten indoor sessions will be run at the Kingsbury School and Sports College in Erdington on Tuesday evenings from 7.00-8.00 pm.

GB Women’s Softball Team may miss the World Championships

The Great Britain Women's Fastpitch Softball Team, currently ranked 11th in the world, may have to give up its place at the 2012 Softball World Championships for lack of funding.

Softball and baseball to have Olympic Torch Bearers

Manchester Softball League Head Harry Somers and Merseyside baseball legend Norman Wells have been selected as two of the 8,000 people who will carry the Olympic Torch throughout the country next year before it reaches its place of honour in Olympic Park.
