TourCats spread the slowpitch gospel in Cologne

Following the success of the last year's tour to the Netherlands, the TourCats, the touring arm of the Birmingham Bobcats Softball Club, recently embarked upon another European adventure, this time to Cologne in Germany for a slowpitch tournament on Saturday, May 26.

All 66 games from the International Softball Federation's XIII Women's World Championships, to be played from July 13-22 in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada, will be webstreamed and available to fans around the world – including all games that the GB Women's Fastpitch Team will play in the competition.

Joint CEB and ESF Congress scheduled for February 2013 in Slovenia

After a nine-year period during which the Confederation of European Baseball (CEB) and the European Softball Federation (ESF) have held separate annual Congresses, the two groups are reinstituting a Joint Congress in 2013, to be held from February 15-17 in Bled, Slovenia.

GB Slowpitch Team shows the Dutch how it’s done

They came, they saw and they conquered. The GB Slowpitch Team proved more than equal to the Slowpitch Challenge posed by the Dutch on the weekend of May 25-27, winning all four exhibition games played over three days at three locations against a handpicked Dutch team of high-level baseball and fastpitch players.

Denmark wins as the London Cup survives the rain

Miraculously, it didn't exactly rain at Richings Park on Sunday morning, June 3, though the air was full of mist and the humidity was about 300 per cent. And so it was that the 2012 London Cup International Women's Fastpitch Tournament squished to a conclusion, with the undefeated Danish National Team taking a truncated final from the London Angels by a score of 2-0 to fly back to Denmark with the title.

First Diffodil Tournament is a big success in Cardiff

The first-ever two-day co-ed slowpitch competition in Cardiff, the Diffodil Tournament, avoided the forecast rain on Sunday and was a resounding success on the weekend of June 2-3 at the Cardiff Harlequins Rugby Club.

Spring Cotswold Tournament cancelled

The Spring Cotswold Tournament, scheduled for Sunday, June 10, has been cancelled. But the Autumn Cotswold Tournament, scheduled for September 30, will take place as planned.
