Players selected for GB Under-16 Girls

GB Under-16 Girls' Fastpitch Team Head Coach Jeremy Thomas and his staff have now selected 12 players who will compete for Great Britain at the 2013 European Cadette Championships, scheduled for August 5-10 in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

Seedings released for ISF Junior World Championships

The International Softball Federation has released the seedings for the 10th Junior Women's Fastpitch World Championships, to be played from July 1-7 in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. With the tournament becoming open entry, the GB Junior (Under-19) Women's Team will compete.

New National Academy session scheduled
7 January 2013
A new National Academy Softball session has been scheduled for Saturday, 23 March to make up for the session missed in December. This new National Academy session replaces Regional Academy sessions previously scheduled on that date in London and Nottingham. A national GB training session will now be held at Milton Keynes on Sunday, 24 March.

First GB youth fastpitch team trial on 8 December

The first of two open trials for selection to GB Under-19 and Under-16 youth fastpitch teams for 2013 competitions will be held as part of the Academy Softball and GB training sessions scheduled for Saturday, December 8 and moved from Milton Keynes to Uxbridge because of the unavailability of the Dome at Milton Keynes. A second trial be held on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Milton Keynes. To be eligible for selection, GB-based players must attend at least one of the two trials.

Young British players get a taste of the Major Leagues

Nearly 200 young players got a personal taste of Major League Baseball on Saturday, 17 November when the 3rd annual European Big League Tour came to London for the first time and Major League players spent the day instructing at clinics, signing autographs and answering questions at the London Soccerdome.

Argentina wins its first Softball World Championship

Argentina was crowned as a Softball World Champion on November 11 for the first time in its history after beating Japan 5-0 in the final game of the ninth ISF Junior Men's World Championship played in Parana, Argentina.

Major League stars to run London youth clinics

Five Major League Baseball players, including Rick VandenHurk of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Jeremy Guthrie of the Kansas City Royals and Roger Bernadina of the Washington Nationals, will visit London on November 16 and 17 to participate in instructional clinics for young baseball and softball players. The clinics are part of the third annual European Big League Tour, which was conceived by Rick VandenHurk, a native of the Netherlands.

Girls’ Softball Camp on October 29 in Horsham

A Softball Camp for girls aged 8-16, run by qualified softball coaches, will be held at the Forest Recreation Centre in Horsham during half-term on Monday, October 29 from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm. The aim is to launch a new girls' softball team in Horsham.

Academy dates announced for winter season

BaseballSoftballUK has announced dates for National Academy Softball sessions over the 2012-13 closed season at the Dome in Milton Keynes, plus dates for GB Softball national team training sessions at Milton Keynes and Regional Academy Softball sessions in Nottingham and in the South (probably London).
