New date for Spring Cotswold Tournament

Due to issues with the availability of pitches at Archway School in Stroud, the Spring Cotswold Tournament has moved from 22 June to Sunday 15 June, and entries are now open.

One place left in East Midlands First Ball Tournament

There is a place for just one more team in the traditional season-opening co-ed slowpitch tournament, the East Midlands First Ball, scheduled for Sunday 6 April at Charnwood College in Loughborough.

GB Slowpitch Open scheduled for Manchester

The 2014 GB Slowpitch Open tournament has been scheduled for Saturday 3 May in Manchester. This tournament is designed as a fun event for the teams that take part but also to raise money for the GB Slowpitch Team and raise the team's profile in the softball community.

First WBSC Congress to be held in Tunisia

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has awarded the North African nation of Tunisia the hosting rights for the first-ever WBSC Congress, which will be held in Hammamet, Tunisia from 10-11 May 2014.

BSF coaching scheme announced for 2014

The BSF has once again asked GB Slowpitch Team Manager Sara Vertigan to assemble a team of coaches from the GB squad to help B-grade and C-grade teams seeking to 'up their game' in 2014.

The first competitive game of 2014?

Could this have been the first competitive outdoor softball game of the 2014 season? On Thursday 30 January, a team from the Swindon Softball League took on trainee officers from the Defence Academy in Shrivenham in temperatures of 2 degrees C, and the Swindon team eventually won by 31-10.

The British Softball Federation has published three new documents on the BSF website to provide guidance for new slowpitch or fastpitch softball teams during the period when they are just starting out, and then when they want to make sure that the team remains viable.

It has been a great 12 months for the GB Co-ed Slowpitch Team, with a ninth straight European Championship win in the Czech Repubic in July 2013 and a silver medal at the ISF Slowpitch World Cup in January 2014. Head Coach Steve Patterson explains how these achievements came about.

Slowpitch World Cup looks to a bright future

The third ISF Co-ed Slowpitch World Cup, played in Plant City, Florida from 23-26 January, featured an increased number of participants and a pledge from the International Softball Federation to continue the competition on an annual basis. But how exactly this might happen remains to be determined.

Six new members join the BSF Hall of Fame

Six new members were inducted into the British Softball Federation Hall of Fame at the 2014 BSF AGM in Manchester on 22 February: three players, a coach and two administrators, bringing the total membership of the Hall of Fame to 41.
