GLSML development sessions to start June 3

The Greater London Softball Mixed League (GLSML) development programme will be in full flow again this summer, offering Monday night sessions in Regents Park, from June 3 through August 19, to anyone who wants to get into softball but has found it hard to find a spot in a league team.

GLSML Softball Shorts Day scheduled for April 28

The Greater London Softball Mixed League (GLSML) has scheduled a Softball Shorts Day for Sunday 28 April from 12.30-3.30 pm on the Primrose Hill extension of Regents Park. This is a training day for all new players and players from GLSML Minors Divisions who want a bit of extra coaching on the basics of softball.

BASU schedules 15 umpire training courses for Spring 2013

Trainers from the British Association of Softball Umpires (BASU) will deliver 15 one-day and two-day umpire training courses for slowpitch softball leagues up and down the UK – and in Jersey – between March 16 and May 5.

East Midlands Fastpitch League seeks players

A new women's fastpitch league starting this year in the East Midlands is looking for players to come out and try an exciting and challenging softball format.

East Midlands League votes for mandatory helmets

The East Midlands Softball League has become the first slowpitch league in the UK to vote that all players must wear helmets when batting or baserunning. This policy will come into effect for the 2013 season.

Leeds kicks off inaugural indoor season

The Leeds Softball Association (LSA) has begun its first-ever indoor league, to much anticipation from local sluggers. The league got underway in late January, and four teams meet every Monday,sheltered from the chilly weather, at Notre Dame Sixth Form College near Leeds city centre.

BSF hosts wide-ranging League Heads Forum

A wide-ranging and constructive League Heads Forum meeting was hosted by the BSF on Sunday, 13 January in Birmingham. Representatives from 10 slowpitch leagues and the Great Britain Fastpitch League met with members of the BSF Executive and BASU Committee as well as staff members from BSUK.

Softball featured at Greater Manchester Sports Awards

Softball and baseball both had a presence at the Greater Manchester Sports Awards that took place on Friday evening, November 9 at the Lancashire County Cricket Club at Old Trafford, with more than 500 people in attendance. BSUK was one of the event sponsors, and while no awards went to either of our sports, they were prominent during the evening.

BSF League Heads Forum to be held in January

The BSF's annual League Heads Forum, where slowpitch League Heads meet with members of the BSF Executive to discuss current softball issues and ideas, is normally held in November. But the 2012 League Heads Forum has now been scheduled for Saturday, January 19 in Birmingham.
