New GB Men’s Fastpitch Team Head Coach appointed

Russ Snow, the most successful Head Coach in the history of the GB Men's Fastpitch Team, has stepped down from the position and will be replaced by one of his former Assistant Coaches, Norman Ames, who lives and coaches in the Netherlands.

Coaching help needed for youth fastpitch training sessions

People with softball coaching experience are needed to help with training sessions for young players, mainly in the new year, at BSUK's Academy Softball and Talent programmes and at GB National Team training.

Great year at Maidenhead Softball Club

2013 has been a fantastic time for Maidenhead Softball Club, including achieving a Clubmark award and running a successful schools programme. The year was capped by the club running its first 'Hit and Run Tournament' on 29 September.

GB Fastpitch coaches head for a learning week in the US

Two GB Fastpitch coaches -- Under-16 Head Coach Jeremy Thomas and Under-13 Assistant Coach Beth Perkins -- will head for the United States on 25 September to spend a week watching and learning from coaches at the softball programme at Florida State University.

ASA coaches enjoy good feedback on tour

Top ASA slowpitch coaches Steve Shortland and Cheryl Trapnell ended their UK tour on 4 July after delivering sessions to team coaches from nine different leagues, working with teams on strategy at two weekend tournaments, introducing the idea of 'diagnotics' to critique the strength and weaknesses of your own and other teams and also spending time with players from the GB Slowpitch Team.

Chalfont Softball Club plans Junior Softball Nights

Young people in the Chiltern District will be encouraged to take up a new sport this summer when Chalfont Softball Club puts on a series of six Junior Softball Nights on Friday evenings during July and the first half of August, starting on 5 July, in an attempt to find the softball stars of the future.

ASA Coaches get off to a good start

Two high-level slowpitch softball coaches from the United States are currently on a tour of the UK, delivering sessions to team coaches in slowpitch leagues around the country and working with teams on game strategy at tournaments. The tour, supported by the American Amateur Softball Association (ASA) and the BSF, opened in London on 20-21 June, and then moved on to the Pioneers Tournament in Canterbury.

ASA slowpitch coaches plan UK tour

Two high-level American slowpitch coaches with national and international experience will tour the UK from 20 June through 3 July to provide coach-training for team representatives from slowpitch leagues around the country. The tour is being supported by the American Amateur Softball Association (ASA) and the British Softball Federation.

Softball Shorts goes Extra Large

The Softball Shorts Day run by the Greater London Softball Mixed League (GLSML) on Sunday 28 April on Primrose Hill for new and inexperienced players doubled in size this year, with over 40 people attending the coaching session.
