AugRichings Park Men get a taste of Europe
A Richings Park Men’s Fastpitch Team travelled to Prague in the Czech Republic to compete in the European Cup-Winners Cup for Men from August 22-27. The team won two games and came last out of seven teams in the standings, but it was another big step in widening the range of men’s fastpitch opportunities in the UK.

AugDiamond Series looks back on a great fifth anniversary year
The final tournament in the fifth anniversary year for the Diamond Series was played on the weekend of July 30-31, and the series deciders went down to the wire in all three grades.

AugQuackers win gold at “Let the Girls Play” tournament
Let the Girls Play hosted their highest number of teams to date, with a full capacity of eight female-only squads competing for the title. Quackers hoisted the trophy, with Bristol Bluebirds battling for second place and the Chavs and Sticky Fingers agreeing to draw for third place when the deciding game was rained out.

AugGreensox, Knights, Outlaws and Ascot victorious at BSF Co-Ed National Championship
The cream of Britain’s co-ed softball talent descended upon Bristol on the weekend of August 13-14 for two days of sun-splashed, competitive slowpitch softball. With Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze trophies up for grabs 21 teams made the trip to the Clifton College Sports Grounds with glory in their sights.

AugLeeds Softball Association to host charity tournament and open day
The Leeds Softball Association will host the Girlsball Tournament on the Sunday 4 September 2011 at Wellington Place, Leeds. The charity competition is in support of Breast Cancer Haven Leeds, and will be accompanied by an open day of fun softball activities for newcomers to the sport.

AugSix teams slug it out at BASIC 2011 in Belfast
The Belfast Aviators Softball Club staged the second annual BASIC Tournament on Saturday, August 6 at Shorts Recreation Club in Belfast. Despite some initiall interest, no teams attended from England or Scotland, but three teams from Northern Ireland and three from the Republic had a great day, with a Belfast v Dublin final.

AugChromies come back to lift the European Slowpitch Cup
The defending European Slowpitch Cup champion Chromies managed only a 6-6 record and third place in the round-robin phase of the 2011 competition, played in Mlade Buky in the Czech Republic. But then Chromies swept through the Page Playoffs and defeated Limerick from Ireland in the final to lift the trophy again.

AugPioneers are favourites as the European Slowpitch Cup heads for Page Playoffs
The BSF 2010 Premier Nationals Champions Pioneers finished well ahead of the field by the time the round-robin phase of the 2011 European Slowpitch Cup came to an end on Friday evening, August 5 at Mlade Buky in the Czech Republic. Pioneers will be joined by Limerick, Chromies and Sparks Mlade Buky in Saturday’s Page Playoffs.
