The forecast rain mostly stayed away and the 2014 European Slowpitch Super Cup got off to a busy start on Tuesday 29 July in Mlade Buky and Trutnov in the Czech Republic, with the two British entries, the Chromies and H2O, mowing down every team that has so far crossed their path.

The Men's Slowpitch Team that is representing Europe in the Border Battle Tournament in Kitchener, Ontario opened with games against Team Quebec and Team USA on 24 July, and took a lot of positives from their two losses.

Chromies reach European Cup final in style

Never, ever count the Chromies out, especially when their backs are to the wall. On Friday evening at the European Slowpitch Super Cup in the Czech Republic, Chromies subjected H2O to a comprehensive 14-3 defeat that put the Chromies straight into Saturday evening's final.

A European Men's Slowpitch Team – with British players making up half the squad – will come together in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada on or around 20 July to take on the might of Team USA, Team Canada and others in a tournament leading up to the annual USA v Canada Border Battle.

Hairy Coos take Tartan Tournament title with walk-off win

The annual Tartan Tournament was hosted by the Central Scotland Softball League at Lochinch Playing Fields in Pollock Country Park in Glasgow on the weekend of 31 May-1 June, and the title was won in thrilling walk-off fashion by the Hairy Coos, who beat the Souls 10-9 in an extra-inning final.
