Fastpitch softball for women and girls is growing in Britain. But one thing holding back this development is the lack of umpires to call fastpitch games. The BSF hopes to remedy this by inviting people to take an “informal” fastpitch course.

More and more requests are coming in from leagues for BASU umpire courses between now and the start of the season. Any league that wants to host a course but has yet to contact BASU needs to do so as soon as possible.

A co-ed slowpitch tournament will be held on the weekend of April 10-11 in Hengelo, Holland, and British teams are invited. But the tournament only requires a minimum of two women on the field.
