Further to the announcement of the new Great Britain Slowpitch team staff and with the fast-approaching 2024 Coed European Championships on the horizon, there is a necessity to conduct existing squad assessments and trials for new talent to the program
As mentioned the primary focus in the next few months is to select and prepare a team to compete at the Europeans in Czechia mid-July. With that focus in mind, all new playing talent are welcome to attend a trials and games session on the 28th of April at The National Baseball & Softball Complex at Farnham Park. The morning will be taken up with trials and the afternoon session is a chance to play games alongside current GB Slowpitch squad players. There will be a nominal fee of £10 to attend.
If you would like to attend on the 28th of April, please contact GB Slowpitch Team Manger Stewart Butcher at stewart.butcher@britishsoftball.org. You will then be sent a link to supply your contact details, and playing experience and confirm your availability. Please confirm your attendance no later than 23 April at noon.
We must emphasise that these are trials and a chance for you to showcase your skills for potential selection for the upcoming Europeans and not a training session. A wider open trial will be conducted at the end of the season with an emphasis on potential rather than current ability. Further details will be announced in due course.
