    More than 20 members of the British Association of Softball Umpires attended the 2017 BASU AGM on Saturday 11 February in Bristol to celebrate the organisation’s 25th anniversary and to make plans for the 2017 season.

    Two BASU umpires selected for the Softball World Cup in Florida

    Two experienced BASU umpires—Chris Moon and Pete Saunders—have been selected to umpire at the 2016 WBSC Slowpitch World Cup, to be played in Plant City, Florida from 17-20 November.

    BASU Fastpitch Umpire Course attracts good turnout

    An inaugural BASU one-day Fastpitch Umpire Course was run on Sunday 8 May at the Heston Venue, formerly the British Airways Concorde Club, in Cranford near Heathrow Airport.  The course was well-attended, with 12 participants who had wide-ranging experience as coaches, players and umpires, with backgrounds in fastpitch, slowpitch, and baseball.

    BASU to run fastpitch umpire course in May

    A one-day theory course in fastpitch umpiring and rules will be held on Sunday 8 May at a venue near Farnham Park, open to anyone interested in umpiring and to players who want to know more about the rules to gain that strategic edge!

    Baseball and softball in YST Talent Camp

    Bridget Cameron to umpire at Junior World Championships

    Bridget Cameron, a BASU umpire who relocated from Brisbane, Australia to Edinburgh at the end of 2013, has been selected to represent Great Britain as an umpire at the 11th WBSC Junior Women’s Fastpitch World Championships in Oklahoma City, USA in August.
