Two experienced BASU umpires -- Chris Moon and Pete Saunders -- have been selected to umpire at the 2016 WBSC Slowpitch World Cup, to be played in Plant City, Florida from 17-20 November.

This will be the third year in a row that the competition has been held, following earlier versions played in 2002 and 2005, also in Plant City, headquarters of the World Baseball Softball Confederation Softball Division (formerly the International Softball Federation).

This year, the GB Slowpitch Team will be competing at the World Cup against teams from the US, Canada, the Bahamas, the Turks and Caicos Islands, France, Germany, Bulgaria and possibly others.  More information on the tournament and selections for the GB Team can be found here.

There are hopes that in future, this competition can alternate between a full Slowpitch World Championship, contested by national teams, and a World Cup.
