The annual Leeds Tournament was played over the weekend of 8-9 June at Grange Park Sports Grounds in Wetherby, and 24 teams in four divisions battled on through Saturday rain and then a better day on Sunday.

The tournament’s ‘Meme-Themed Weekend’ included a ‘memes and nightmares’ fancy dress party on the Saturday night and rookie teams getting their first runs, catches and wins, while more experienced teams at B-grade and C-grade fought out some really close games.

All four finals were edge-of-the-camping-chair stuff, as shown by the close score lines (see below) and a number of the MVPs being from the runner-up sides as well as the winners.

Side-show softball themed games and a raffle raised awareness of mental health issues as well as over £225 for the event’s partner charity, Leeds Mind (https://www.leedsmind.org.uk/).

Everyone had a great time and are keen to come back to West Yorkshire next year!
