Slowpitch competition is happening much more frequently in Europe these days, and the latest example was the 10-team Linz Slowpitch Cup held in Linz, Austria on the weekend of September 24-25. There were male and female players in most of the teams, though men predominated.

The tournament was organised by Marc Stein from the Austrian club Linz Bandits and by Charles Williams, who head the Bebe's Kidz US military team that plays annually at our Softball World Series.

Two US military teams took part, with the other eight teams coming from Austria, Slovenia, Slovakia and Germany, plus a team representing the Dominican Republic.

In the final, one of the US military teams, Bamberg Softball, defeated the Dominican Los Coyotes by 10-6.
