Prague, Czech Republic: 23 August – The 2022 European Men’s Super Cup got under way on Monday in Prague and eight of the nine games on the 
schedule were completed before heavy rain washed out the last game of the day – the game involving the British entry, the Stags.
The Stags were due to play the host team Joudrs Prague in the final game of the day following the tournament’s Opening Ceremony, but that’s when the rain arrived and it continued throughout the night, so at least the first half of Tuesday’s schedule has been postponed as well.
So it’s not clear when the Stags, who qualified for the tournament by winning the Men’s Division in the Great Britain Fastpitch League last year, will be able to take to the field.
Seventeen teams are competing in this year’s European Men’s Super Cup, including most of the top fastpitch club teams in Europe, and the Stags, who were first formed in 2019 and are playing in a European tournament for the first time, are in a tough first round group, with two teams from the Czech Republic and one from the Netherlands.
