A near-record total of 31 teams took part in the BSF’s 2016 Single-Sex Slowpitch National Championships on the weekend of 9-10 July at the Moor Lane Sports Ground in Perry Barr, Birmingham, with winner’s trophies awarded in eight categories of play.

The top awards – the Platinum National Championship titles – went to the men’s team Puppies from London and the women’s team Bluebirds from Bristol.

The tournament featured a number of close games, and some especially close and well-contested finals.

Entries

Seventeen men’s teams entered the tournament – nine Comp and eight Rec teams – along with 14 women’s teams, seven each in Comp and Rec.

Over the course of the two-day competition, these categories were broken down further based on the results of round-robin play, and on Sunday, Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze trophies were won by both men’s and women’s teams.
