A select team of GB Under-19 players will shortly set off for France to take part in the annual Ermont Expos Mixed Fastpitch Tournament on 18-19 March in Ermont, a suburb of Paris.

This will be the third time that a GB development team, under the leadership of GB Under-19 Men’s Team Manager Ian Tomlin, has entered this competition, which provides much-needed game time for our young players against European opposition from France and Belgium.

A similar mixed team of Under-19 players is also likely to attend the annual Tournoi de Fleur later in the year, a competition held in Paris each October to commemorate Fleur Edgerton, a former GB Women’s Team player who lived in Paris and was involved for many years with French softball.

Promising players

GB Under-19 Men’s Team Head Coach Chris Yoxall and Ian Tomlin have selected a squad for Ermont that includes both promising young players and more senior players such as Matt Tomlin and George Young to provide mentoring and leadership.

Matt Tomlin will serve as both a player and coach for the team, with Ian Tomlin taking on the Manager’s role.

The following players will make the trip, playing as a GB Select team:

Saskia Davies
Eliza Esiri
Caitlin Frank
Theo Longboy
Izzy Quy

Daniel Downes
Max Fagin
Evan Harvey
Oliver Howley
Joe Norris
Jack Scholes
Ben Tomlin
George Young
