LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM – The British Baseball Federation and British Softball Federation look forward to the announcement of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Programme in the coming days and are excited by the proposal submitted yesterday, 9 October, by the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee that includes baseball and women’s fastpitch softball on the programme.

The proposal still needs to be ratified by the IOC Executive on 12 October and by a full meeting of the IOC on 16 October, with both meetings taking place in Mumbai.

With both the Great Britain Men's Baseball and Senior Women’s Fastpitch Softball Teams holding silver medals from their most recent European Championship, we are eager to play against the world’s best teams at every opportunity in the future.

Both programmes are on the right trajectory to compete in major competitions, and with interest at the grassroots level in Great Britain growing in both sports, with participation nearly doubling since 2009, we are very excited for the future of British baseball and softball.
