The 2023 Coach Summit, the UK’s biggest baseball and softball coaching event of the year, will take place live and in-person at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre near High Wycombe on 28-29 January.
In addition, the British Baseball and Softball Coaching Awards will take place at an awards dinner at the Summit on the night of 28 January, and nominations are now open.
New for 2023 is the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion award, which will be given to the coach who has “made a contribution towards tackling inequality and removing barriers to participants from underrepresented groups.” You can nominate a deserving coach for any of the eight awards on offer here.
Getting Back to It
The theme of the 2023 Coach Summit is “Getting Back to It”, following the return to a full season of normality after the Covid-19 pandemic. The Summit will lead into a massive year for British baseball and softball, including the GB Baseball Team playing in the World Baseball Classic, the London Series 2023, and WBSC World Cup Qualifiers for the GB Women’s Fastpitch Softball Team. Without question, 2023 will be one of the biggest years ever for our sports!
At the Summit, workshops will provide you – the coach – with a ‘one-stop-shop’ to get you ready for the 2023 season. Topics will include specialty skills training tailored to baseball, fastpitch softball and slowpitch softball, plus all your governance requirements. Safeguarding and DBS services will also be available.
You will be able to participate in panel discussions with coaches from our sports and others, talking about why it is so important to have great coaches from the grassroots to the elite and professional level. Each coach will share their personal perspective on their journey through their sport.
Great venue
For the first time, the 2023 Coach Summit will take place at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre near High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire one of the UK’s most well-equipped and and famous sporting venues.
Bisham Abbey played host last summer to the GB Women’s Fastpitch Team before their journey to Sant Boi in Spain, where the team won the silver medal at the European Women’s Championship.
