The first Diamond Series tournament of the year, on the weekend of May 12-13, enjoyed an unexpected two days of sunshine to get the major slowpitch tournament season underway.

H2O won the A-grade competition, Manchester Thunder were B-grade winners and Nino Privados took C-grade honours.

Diamond Series organiser Dave King said: “This tournament was described as the best yet.  And the umpiring standard appears to have improved – players were making a point of letting me know how good it was.

“I would like to inform all teams,” Dave added, “that no construction work will take place on-site before Diamond 2 on June 9-10, so places are still available in all grades.”
