Great Britain Women’s Senior National Fastpitch Team Head Coach Tara Henry and the British Softball Federation have today announced the 15 players who will represent Great Britain at the Women’s Softball European Championship 2025. The European Championships will be held in Prague, Czechia, from 7-13 September.
Great Britain will again defend European silver, having won silver medals at both the 2022 European Softball Championships held in Sant Boi, Spain and last year’s 2024 European Softball Championship in Utrecht, Netherlands. GBR will play in Group Y with the Netherlands, Greece, and France, and will open the European Championship against France on 7 September at noon BST. Great Britain will play their three opening round games at Eagles Park, the home of Eagles Praha. The European Championships will also serve as a qualifier for the 2026 Women’s Softball World Cup Group Stage, to be held next year in Prague, Lima, and Oklahoma City.
Athletes were selected in accordance with the British Softball Federation’s selection policy, which can be viewed here. The 15 members of the roster and two alternates are as follows, with their UK home in brackets:

The European Championship roster returns ten players from 2024’s silver-medal-winning European Women’s Championship team, including Burge, Chan, Clark-Wilson, Corrick, Edwards, Hutchison, Kerr, Snow, Thompson, Warsop and Hartle. Laura Hirai becomes the first player named to both the Great Britain Women’s Softball and Great Britain Women’s Baseball rosters and could play in both the Women’s European Baseball Championship and Women’s European Softball Championship in 2025. Francik and Krueger have been named to the Senior Roster for the first time, while Thompson (17) is the youngest member of the roster for the second year in a row. Clark-Wilson, Haig (Alternate), Hartle (Alternate) and Thompson will also suit up for the U18s this year.
Head of Performance Gary Anderson said, “Our player pool has continued to grow over the past few years, and this year’s Senior team shows the depth of talent we are able to draw from. Coming off back-to-back silver medals in Europe, and with World Cup qualification at stake, we are confident that this roster will give us the best opportunity to win European gold this September and continue our positive trajectory towards the Olympic Games.”

In addition to the European Softball Championship 2025, Tara Henry will take charge of the U18s, with Nate Headley also joining the staff, for the U18 European Softball Championship from 21-26 July in Navarra, Spain, as U18 Head Coach Tara Tembey is on maternity leave.
