SUMMARY: The Great Britain Senior Women’s National Fastpitch Team opened the 2025 European Softball Championships with a 5-2 win over France. Jazzy Francik (1-0) got the win in her Great Britain debut, while five different GBR batters drove in runs as part of a 10-hit effort.

The game changed when…Amie Hutchison hammered a double off the wall in left-centre field to score Jenna Thompson and pinch-runner Amy Hartle scored on Jess Chan’s double to give GBR a 5-1 advantage in the sixth inning.

Great Britain's top performers were Jazzy Francik, in her debut for Great Britain and tossed five innings of 1-run ball with six strikeouts, and Katie Burge, who reached base twice, scored a run, and drove in another.

  • Amie Hutchison is the oldest member of this year’s Great Britain team at 27, with three players tied at age 17 for the youngest. Hutchison made her GB debut with the then U-16 team in Ostrava, Czechia, back in 2013.
  • With Jazzy Francik’s debut, four other players have the opportunity to play their first competitive game for the GBR Senior Team during this tournament: Paytn Monticelli, Laura Hirai, Mia Krueger and Sydney Teague
