SUMMARY: Great Britain finished off Group Y with a five-inning 9-1 victory over Belgium and will head into the Super Round with four straight wins.

The game changed when...who else but Jahni Kerr singled in the third inning to spark GBR's three-run rally, giving them a lead they would not relinquish. After Kerr's single, Burge singled, Morgan Salmon walked, and Kirsten Dell drove Kerr and Burge home with a base hit and the 2-1 advantage. 

GBR Stars:

  • Katie Burge, or Katie Three-Bags as she was known at the University of Central Florida, tripled as part of her 2-3 day, scoring twice
  • Kirsten Dell: 1-2 with three runs batted in from the cleanup spot
  • Georgina Corrick continued her best Shohei Ohtani impression - or maybe it's the other way around - with a 1-2 day,driving in two
  • Amy Hartle doubled and drove in a run in her Senior debut

Tournament Update: Great Britain improves to 4-1 at the European Championships, finishing in second place in Group Y. In the Super Round, GBR will face some of Europe's perennial contenders in The Netherlands, Italy, Czechia, and Spain, along with fellow Group Y participants Greece. 

Next Up: Great Britain faces Czechia in their opening game of the Super Round at 17:30 CET/16:30 BST at Sportpark de Paperclip in Utrecht.

  • With Amy Hartle starting against Belgium, all of GBR's new players have now debuted at the Senior level - Kerr, Hartle, Elena Clark-Wilson, Cara Edwards, and Jenna Thompson. Thompson is the third 16-year-old to make their GBR Senior debut in the last three years, joining Tia Warsop (2022, European Championships) and Jessica Chan (2023, World Cup Pool A)
