GB Under-18 Women’s Fastpitch Team Head Coach Tara Tembey and her staff have announced the players selected to compete in this summer’s European Under-18 Women’s Championship.
The tournament will be held from 30 July-5 August at the Joudrs and Spectrum Softball Clubs in Prague, Czechia, with a record entry of 21 countries.
For Great Britain, this will be the first time since 2018 – largely due to the pandemic – that the team has played in a European Championship, and at that point they were playing as an Under-19 team and finished sixth. A year later, the World Baseball Softball Confederation changed the age groups for youth teams, and the Under-19s became the Under-18s.
However, the GB Under-19 Team still holds the distinction of winning Britain’s only European fastpitch gold medal, when they triumphed at the 2016 European Under-19 Women’s Championship in Sant Boi, Spain.
