U16 Men’s Head Coach Natalie Hull and U18 Men’s Head Coach Alan LeMarquand are pleased to announce the final sections following the winter training and trials at Farnham Park.

The final squad demonstrates the growing pool of young male softball players within GB, and it’s a testament to the hard work from all involved in youth softball and the growing GBFL. The U16’s and U18’s European Championships both take place from June 30th to July 4th this summer (2026) in Brěclav and Kunovice, Czechia.

We’re raising funds to send the GB Men’s U16 and U18 teams to the 2026 European Softball Championships.

GB U16

U16 Head Coach Natalie Hull is looking forward to watching them embrace the experience of the Euro's said:

“Final selection for the Men's u16's 2026 European Championship Squad has now been made, and we are focused and excited for the journey ahead. Players represent a variety of clubs and teams from across the UK and Wales, and range in age from 13 to 16 years.

We have been preparing players for this event for a little over 2 years with our calendar of national sessions and weekend tournaments in Europe. Players have also been supported by their local teams and clubs through weekly training and, of course, by their families, who travel with them up and down the country, rain or shine. I am really impressed with the commitment to training and continued skills development that these players display, and I am looking forward to watching them embrace the experience of the Euro's.

There were some really tough choices to make, and it's always difficult leaving anyone off the final list, but to be in a position where we had so many eligible for consideration is hugely complimentary, and we are extremely proud of how the programme has developed so far and is, in fact, still evolving. We hope the Softball Community will follow our progress and continue to support our players through to and beyond the Euro's.”

GB U18

U18’s Head Coach Alan LeMarquand was also impressed:

“Following an excellent winter training program, I’m very pleased with the way this group of players stepped up to the challenges we set them. They worked extremely hard and proved themselves time and again. I’m pleased for the players who have made the selection. Many have been with me for over a year, and it’s now exciting to take them to the Championships. We have more work to do before we leave. We came 4th in 2023, so the first target is to match that, but we believe we can do better this time around.”

It is great to see the number of new names within the roster for both the U16s and the U18s, with some players returning to a GB jersey in their next phase of development within the Men’s Programme.

The British Softball Federation is extremely proud of all players who have trained and trialed as part of the preparations for this tournament, and we wish the traveling teams the best of success!
