Day 5
GB came out and played softball like we know they can. Although Denmark scored 5 runs in the first innings, GB held them at 6-1 until the bottom of the 5th before they got in 2 runs to end the game 8-1. We did not make it easy for the Danes and this showed when they changed their pitcher after we started getting on base, at one point having bases loaded which we unfortunately could not convert to scored runs. Highlight of the game was strike outs for pitcher Damon Brown on a number of the Danish big hitters. Despite finishing the tournament in 5th place tied with Croatia and Slovakia, it felt like they walked away from the final game on a high. Coach Darryl and his staff will now reflect back on the week and on what areas need work going forward.
