Eleven teams convened at the Clifton College Sports Ground outside Bristol on the hot and sunny weekend of 27-28 May to compete in the annual Bristol DD Cup Tournament, and a good time was had by all.

The odd number of teams meant that the organisers created a schedule based on a single large round-robin rather than dividing the teams into two groups, and this worked well.

Winners

Cup Tournament winners were Coventry Blitz, with Thundercats from Jersey the runners-up.

Plate winners were Hammers from Wales, with Redbridge Raiders the runners-up.  The Flycatchers won the Spoon competition.

Both the Cup and Plate finals were closely-fought games, decided by only one or two runs.

The Most Sociable Team award was given to Teirw’r Taf.

The award for most home runs over the fence was split between to Grant Robertson from the Coalition of Swinging Legends and Scott Roberts from Thundercats, both of whom hit 11 round-trippers over the course of the weekend.

MVPs

MVPs from the Cup competition were Charlotte Sykes from Coventry Blitz and Scott Roberts from Thundercats.

Plate MVPs were Emma and Hurling, both from the Hammers.

Spoon MVPs were Angharad Roach from Teirw’r Taf and Kit Rumney from Flycatchers.
