A celebration of the life of Chris Moon, the much-loved BASU umpire who passed away last month, will take place on Saturday 22 October at the National Baseball and Softball Complex at Farnham Park, starting at 1.00 pm.

The plan is for a relaxed day where members of the softball community can celebrate Chris’s life.  There is no dress code: please feel free to wear whatever you like, the more colourful the better, or come in your team kit.

A number of people will be speaking about Chris at approximately 3.00 pm, any everyone who wishes to do will have the opportunity to say a few words.

This will be followed by a light lunch around 4.00 pm.

The bar at Home Plate will be open all evening, so please feel free to come along and join in at any point to enjoy a story or share a memory.  We appreciate that some people will have commitments during the day, but this is an all day and evening event, so come when you can.

There will a book of memories where you can write your stories about Chris, and please bring any photographs or anything that reminds you of Chris for everyone to see.  It will, of course, be yours to take home again at the end of the day.

There will be a collection bucket on the day for the hospice that gave Chris wonderful care in his final days and a Just Giving page has been set up for donations from anyone unable to be there on the day: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/sarah-moon12.

To get an idea of numbers on 22 October, please send a quick RSVP to chrismooncelebration@gmail.com if you plan to attend.

We look forward to seeing everyone on 22 October and hearing all of your stories about Chris from over the years.
