BaseballSoftballUK is planning a special company slowpitch softball tournament on the Fourth of July at Farnham Park, the 2019 Thames Valley Softball Challenge, just a few days after the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox will have played the inaugural London Series games at London Stadium.

As a special incentive, any company that registers a team for the tournament by Friday 21 June will be entered into a draw for one pair of tickets to the Yankees v Red Sox game on Saturday 29 June.

The tournament, aimed at local companies throughout the Thames Valley area, will celebrate America in tying together the country’s Independence Day with its National Pastime.

Details

The Thames Valley Softball Challenge will be played from 3.00-6.30 pm on 4 July, and companies that get a staff team together to take part will enjoy an afternoon on fun softball on “real diamonds” at Farnham Park, just north of Slough on the A355, with BSUK facilitators on hand to run the games and support those new to the sport.

The event will be a chance for company staff to socialise and team-build, as well as take part in some healthy team exercise.  The Home Plate Clubhouse at Farnham Park will be open throughout the event to serve American-themed food and drink to players from participating firms.

The entry cost will be £250 per team, and the recommendation is that teams consist of 12-15 players, with 10 players required to be on the field.

Registration and payment to enter a team in the 2019 Thames Valley Softball Challenge can be made here
