BaseballSoftballUK is excited to announce the return of Academy Softball for 2021-2022 – after a year’s hiatus, the premier national softball talent development programme has returned!
The Academy is designed to help players of all skill levels turn the off-season into an opportunity to become better, stronger and fitter athletes. This is a great time to make improvements in your game, and excellent Academy coaches will be on hand to help you do it.
BSUK’s Academy is split into two elements, Academy Baseball and Academy Softball. Both consist of monthly national and regional weekend training sessions from October to March each year. The tutorials and practice plans will allow young baseball and softball players to improve their hitting, pitching, fielding and baserunning.
This year’s Academy Softball programme will feature both regional and national training sessions, with new elements and lessons added to the programme. The most notable of these additions is that all National Academy sessions at Coventry will feature full scrimmages to allow players to put the skills learned in other sessions to the test. All other sessions will follow the usual Academy layout of skill-work and games. For more questions about session layouts, please email academy@bsuk.com.
The following venues will be used for this year’s programme:
Regional:
- Wales - Lancashire (TBD)
- North-West: Manchester - FIVES Trafford (Trafford Way, Trafford Park, Stretford, Manchester M17 8DD)
- South: Chichester – Chichester High School (Kingsham Rd, Chichester PO19 8EB)
National:
- Coventry - Alan Higgs Centre (Allard Way, Coventry CV3 1HW)
- Buckinghamshire – Farnham Park National Baseball & Softball Complex (Beaconsfield Rd, SL2 3BP)
