British Softball Federation Administrator Vicky Hall will be stepping down in February after four years on the Executive, and the BSF is looking for someone with appropriate skills to run for this important position at the BSF AGM on 22 February in Manchester.

While Vicky will no longer continue as a member of the Executive, she will remain a member of the GB Management Committee, which determines policy and direction for GB national team programmes.

Central role

The post of BSF Administrator was created a couple of years ago, replacing the position of General Secretary, and is one of the three main executive positions in the organisation, along with the President and Treasurer.  The postholder will be a Director of the British Softball Federation Ltd.

The Administrator has a key role at the centre of communications to and from the BSF Executive.  Correspondence to the Federation generally comes to the Administrator and is forwarded to other Executive members as appropriate, and official correspondence from the Executive to people or organisations inside or outside the Federation is generally drafted and sent by the Administrator.

The Administrator also draws up agendas for BSF Executive meetings in consultation with other members, keeps Minutes and maintains and follows up on an Action List arising from meetings.

Required skills

The main skills required for the position are the ability to generate and deal efficiently with electronic and hard-copy communications, experience in creating agendas and Minutes and good organisational and time management abilities.

A general knowledge of key people and issues in British softball would be an advantage.

As with all positions on the BSF Executive, the role of the Administrator is voluntary, but all expenses incurred in carrying out the job will be reimbursed.

Nominations

Nominations or self-nominations for the position of BSF Administrator should be made no later than Wednesday 15 January and should be sent to Vicky Hall at: vicky.hall@britishsoftball.org.  Nominations should include a softball and general CV.

Members of the BSF Executive are elected on an annual basis, and all positions are open for nomination.  For more information, go to: http://www.britishsoftball.org/news/view/2014-bsf-agm-on-february-22-in-manchester.
