The 2012 British Softball Federation AGM will be held on Saturday, February 18 at the Hough End Centre in Manchester, Mauldeth Road West, Chorlton, Manchester M21 7SX.

Registration will be open from 10.30 am, morning workshops and discussion sessions will run from 11.00 am to 12.30 pm, and the formal AGM session will begin at 1.30 pm.

AGM Pack

The AGM agenda, directions to the venue, information on lunch options, a list of morning sessions, the BSF's fee proposals for 2012 and reports from BSF Officers and national teams are all contained in the AGM Pack. Other items in the Pack are motions to the AGM and nominations for posts on the BSF Executive.

Individual, team and league awards will be made at the end of the AGM, and 13 new members will be inducted into the British Softball Hall of Fame.

Morning Workshops

There will be two workshop discussion sessions in the morning:

1) A half-hour workshop on how leagues can encourage new participants (and make some money) by promoting and running Corporate Softball events in their area.

2) A discussion session on proposals for a reshaped National Softball League, to include NSL1 and NSL2 divisions in 2012.

Attendance requirements

Regulations governing attendance requirements at BSF AGMs are as follows:

League Representation at BSF AGMS:  Every league (unless specific exceptions are made on application to the BSF Executive) is required to send a representative to the BSF AGM in order for that league to be eligible to send teams to the next National Championships in any format.

Regional Heads (eg, the LSF Director or Regional Representatives on the BSF Executive, if any) cannot replace League Representatives for this purpose.

BSF Executive members can choose to attend the AGM in their capacity as League/Team Representatives and not as Executive Members, but they can only vote in one capacity.

Team Representation at BSF AGMs:  All teams competing in the National Softball League and the Premier, Platinum and Gold Nationals are required to attend the AGM following participation in the NSL or an appearance in one of those National Championships if they wish to compete in any National Championships during the year in which that AGM is held.

Any other team must have a representative from its league present at an AGM in order to be eligible to compete in any National Championships during the year in which that AGM is held.

Appeals:  Teams can apply for dispensation to not fulfil these requirements until up to 10 days before an AGM (in this case until February 8, 2012) and can appeal these application of these rulings until up to 28 days after the AGM (in this case until March 16, 2012).

Appeals are to be made in writing to BSF President .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and cc'd to BSF Tournaments Officer .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
