Following on from the success of the last two years the BSF is now recruiting two new members to the Athletes Commission.
The BSF is looking for one male slowpitch and one male fastpitch player who are involved in our domestic competitions to join the Softball Athletes Commission.
The aim is to make sure that the Executive are in regular touch with views and opinions from different sections of the softball community, so we can function more effectively on behalf of leagues, teams and players.
What do we do?
The Athletes Commission members cover both slowpitch and fastpitch leagues & sanctioned tournaments. We have 1 male & 1 female representative for each discipline.
Each of the 4 Athletes Commission members will be expected to be active in talking a range of people from the section of the community they represent and bringing their views to regular online commission meetings.
This feedback can then be shared with the BSF Exec at their regular meetings.
Topics and issues to be considered by the Athletes Commission will be up to both the Commission and the BSF Executive to define but focused around issues identified by the players.
In the past 2 years the Athletes commission have been instrumental in: Introduction of the QR code feedback system for Farnham Park.
- The Children's menu for Home Plate
- Acceptable dugout playlist standards
and we continue to work with BSUK regarding pitch conditions & Farnham Park camping, and amenity standards amongst other topics
Interested?
Any male players interested in serving on the Softball Athletes Commission can reach out to Tim Bishop - Exec Member on indicating their playing background and experience, which section of the softball community they would like to represent, and why they would like to join the Commission.
