Nine teams played, in what was the largest turnout ever for a Spring Cotswold Tournament, where the Canary Cubs went on to win 1st place in a very exciting playoff game.

Pioneers lead NSL but lose BA Final

BSF extends helmet and mask subsidy

The BSF is extending its subsidy for teams that need to buy helmets and a catcher's mask for under-18 players to all adult slowpitch teams that wish to purchase this equipment.

GB Women player helps softball in the UK

GB Women's Team player Tahli Moore has joined BSUK's coaching staff for the summer, and will be based in London, working on a range of activities to grow participation in softball.

Hairy Coos take Tartan Tournament title with walk-off win

The annual Tartan Tournament was hosted by the Central Scotland Softball League at Lochinch Playing Fields in Pollock Country Park in Glasgow on the weekend of 31 May-1 June, and the title was won in thrilling walk-off fashion by the Hairy Coos, who beat the Souls 10-9 in an extra-inning final.

European Slowpitch League halfway through its first season

A new European Slowpitch Softball League (ESSL), the brainchild of Austrian slowpitch enthusiast Marc Stein, is now halfway through its first season of play. Six teams representing four countries are taking part, and finals will be held on 13-14 September in Linz, Austria.

GreaterSport and Decathlon support GB Slowpitch Team

GreaterSport, the Greater Manchester Sports Partnership, has donated Decathlon vouchers to the value of £400 to the Great Britain Slowpitch Team after an approach by BSUK North West Coach Linni Mitchell.

Pioneers, Chromies and Blue Steel top the National Softball League table

The second weekend of competition in the 2014 National Softball League took place at the Diamond Series 2 tournament at Farnham Park over the weekend of 7-8 June, and Pioneers, Chromies and Blue Steel (in that order) currently top the NSL table.

Six slowpitch blues qualify at UK ESF course

An ESF Slowpitch Umpire Course was held in Slough from 7-11 May, with instruction at Richings Park Softball Club and assessments at Diamond Series 1 at Farnham Park. Six umpires obtained their ESF qualification.
