BSF grants for development now available

For many years, the BSF has maintained a programme of small Development Grants available to leagues, teams and sometimes individuals for projects that will aid in the development or promotion of the sport, and applications are invited.

BSF looking for Safeguarding Liaison Officer

The British Softball Federation wishes to appoint a Safeguarding Liaison Officer (SLO) to play an essential role in fulfilling the BSF's commitment to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults. The SLO will oversee the implementation of the Joint Safeguarding Policy on behalf of the BSF and will work directly with BaseballSoftballUK's Lead Welfare Officer.

Details announced for 2015 BSF AGM

The 2015 BSF AGM has been set for Saturday 28 February 2015. The BSF AGM alternates each year between North and South, and in 2015 will be held in the South, probably in Watford. The BSF will confirm venue and timing details shortly.

North and South share prizes at Co-ed Nationals

Twenty teams – eight B-grade and 12 C-grade – took part in the British Softball Federation's 2014 Co-ed National Championships over the weekend of 9-10 August at Farnham Park. The honours were split among London, Windsor, Leeds and the East Midlands.

Concussion in youth softball and baseball

Concussion in sport has been much in the news lately following a number of incidents in the recent football World Cup, and the British Softball Federation thinks that more awareness of the issue in softball and baseball would be a good thing – particularly where youth players are concerned.
