The 2015 BSF AGM has been set for Saturday 28 February 2015.  The BSF AGM alternates each year between North and South, and in 2015 will be held in the South, probably in Watford.  The BSF will confirm venue and timing details shortly.

Deadlines for Motions and Nominations

The deadline for Motions to the AGM will be 5.00 pm on Saturday 20 December 2014.

The deadline for nominations for positions on the BSF Executive will be 5.00 pm on Friday 23 January 2015

The AGM Pack will be circulated around 1 February 2015.

While all positions on the Executive are open for nomination (see http://www.britishsoftball.org/bsf-board for a full list of positions), the BSF is particularly interested in people coming forward for the positions of Communications Officer and Tournaments Officer.

Anyone coming forward for the position of Communications Officer will need to have social media skills and good writing ability.

As for the position of Tournaments Officer, with Fiona Thorley stepping down after the AGM, the BSF's intention is to set up a small group to organise its tournaments – mainly National Championships – and will welcome interest from people who would like to be a part of that group, even if they don't want to take on the full Tournaments Officer role.

All Motions to the AGM and nominations for office should sent to BSF Administrator Darren Prouty on: darren.prouty@britishsoftball.org.

AGM attendance requirements

The BSF plans to widen the requirements for attendance at the AGM, which is linked to participation in National Championships.  Attendance will now be required by:

  • A representative from the Committee of each league that wishes to send a team or teams to any National Championship.

  • A representative from each National Softball League team.

  • A representative from any other independent team that wishes to take part in National Championships.

  • NEW:  A representative from all league teams that have qualified for National Championships in 2015 by virtue of their league position in 2014 and that wish to take up their place in National Championships in 2015 or retain the ability to do so.  The list of qualified teams will be announced by the BSF shortly and all relevant teams will be notified directly.
