The BSF Executive has lost several key Officers during 2015 for a variety of reasons and urgently needs to recruit more members so that softball governance can once again be fully functional.

The following positions on the Executive remain vacant as we approach the BSF AGM on 20 February in Manchester:

Administrator:  This is effectively a secretarial role.  The Administrator prepares Agendas and Minutes for BSF Executive meetings and facilitates communications within the Executive and between the Executive and members.

National Teams Officer:  The NTO works with the GB Management Committee to support and oversee GB National Teams (fastpitch and slowpitch).

Tournaments Officer/Logistics:  This post is part of a two-person team.  Liz Graham deals with applications for BSF National Championships as well as scheduling and statistics; the Tournaments Officer/Logistics heads and recruits the team running Nationals on the ground.

Marketing Officer:  The BSF would like to expand its marketing operations both online and at tournaments, including support for marketing on behalf of GB National Teams.  The Marketing Officer will work with BSUK and the GB Management Committee to achieve these objectives.

Communications Officer:  The main element of this role will be to increase the BSF’s social media presence.  The other key responsibility will be to coordinate and develop softball news, in conjunction with BSUK, for the BSF website.

Safeguarding Officer:  This important role involves working with softball teams, clubs, leagues and national teams to ensure that safeguarding procedures and regulations are being carried out effectively throughout the sport.

General Officer:  Two General Officers can be elected, and one post is vacant.  As the name implies, the job involves helping out the Executive and other Officers to carry out their work, and sometimes means taking on special projects that don’t fall into others Officers’ remits.

The deadline for nominations and self-nominations has been extended to 5.00 pm on Friday 29 January.

Nominations should be emailed to BSF President Stella Ackrell (stella.ackrell@britishsoftball.org) and must contain evidence of suitability for the role applied for, as BSF Executive nominations are required to be skill-based.

All BSF Executive positions are voluntary, but all expenses incurred through carrying out these roles are reimbursed.

For further information about the duties and requirements for each position, please contact Stella Ackrell.
