The organisers of the 19th European Women’s Fastpitch Championships, to be played in Rosmalen near S’Hertogenbosch in Southern Holland from 19-25 July, are offering a “passepartout” ticket that provides admission to every single game in the tournament (over 80 games in total) for just 20 euros (8.50 euros for children).

This is Europe’s top fastpitch tournament, with 19 countries, including Great Britain, taking part.  Although the GB Women’s Team had a torrid time at last summer’s ISF World Championships, also in Holland, the team will travel to Rosmalen this year with a mixture of veterans and players up from or still playing with the GB Under-19s, and will be looking for a medal under Head Coach Hayley Scott.

Great Britain’s opening game in the tournament will be on Sunday 19 July 2.45 pm against Slovakia.  On Monday, 20 July, GB will play Italy in the top game in Pool D at 8.45 pm, and on Tuesday 21 July, GB will play a final group game against Switzerland at 11.45 am before playoff rounds begin on Tuesday afternoon. 

All of GB’s games will be on the venue’s main competition field.
 

Easy travel

More and more fans have been travelling to Europe in recent years to watch GB softball teams in action, and getting to Holland requires a minimal amount of travel.  Just get a cheap flight to Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam or the ferry from Harwich to the Hook of Holland, and get a train directly from the airport or the ferry terminal to S’Hertogenbosch, a city with a lively and attractive city centre and reasonably-priced hotels.

Or drive yourself over to Holland and have the chance to tour the country as well as watching softball.The Gryphons Softball Club in Rosmalen, where the tournament will be played (Sportpark "De Groote Wielen", Groote Vlietlaan 61, Rosmalen, North Brabant, 5245 PB, Phone: 00-31-14.45.13.498) can be reached by bus from the city centre.
